The OCA's new Apps Store is online
The Odoo Community Association (OCA) has launched a new Apps Store, now online at apps.odoo-community.org. According to the OCA, the platform was built over several months in collaboration with Akretion. The association describes it as more than an improved catalogue: it is a space designed to showcase the people and organizations behind its work, alongside the modules themselves.
Who the store showcases
The new store surfaces four roles in the OCA community, and explains how each is defined and displayed:
- Contributors — individuals contributing code, ideas, reviews, or time, displayed via the OCA Collaboration Index.
- Members — individuals who financially support the OCA through membership, also displayed via the Collaboration Index.
- Integrators — companies linked to OCA contributions, displayed via the Collaboration Index.
- Sponsors — companies or organizations providing financial support through sponsorship packages, displayed by sponsorship level.
What is new in the store
The OCA notes that searching for its modules used to be less than optimal, with results that were difficult to browse. The new store significantly improves both the module display and the search criteria. Visitors can now filter for "Must Have" modules and browse by module categories, which have themselves been reworked and improved. The OCA has invited users to explore the store and experience the changes firsthand, and it has also published a recording of the Apps Store launch online event for those who want to see the new platform walked through.
For teams building on Odoo, the update makes it easier to find, filter, and compare OCA modules before adopting them. At Majorbird we regularly draw on OCA modules in client work, so a clearer, better-organized store is a practical help.
