Industries / Energy

One digital backbone for energy companies: ERP, MES and AI.

Solar, storage, battery and charging makers grow fast, ship serialised products with long warranties, and answer to more rules every year. Spreadsheets and disconnected tools do not keep up. We give you one backbone: Odoo ERP for the business, our MES on the line, a private AI platform for the people, and a team that stays until it runs, in China, Vietnam, Mexico or wherever your plants are.

Who this is for

Built for the companies that make the energy transition

Solar and PV

Module and inverter makers, EPC teams: from quote to commissioning to O&M contracts.

Battery and storage

Cell, module and pack lines where every unit must be traceable and every test must be on record.

EV charging

Hardware plus a service tail: warranties, spare parts, field service across countries.

Energy equipment

Transformers, power electronics, cabinets: engineered-to-order with a long life in the field.

The problem

Fast growth, serialised products, more rules. Old tools break first.

  • One project, five tools. Quote in one place, BOM in another, site work by email, O&M contract in a drawer. Margin leaks between them.
  • No genealogy. Which cell lot went into which pack shipped to which customer? Without the answer a recall is a mass recall.
  • Test data nobody can find. Capacity, resistance, hi-pot, end-of-line results sit on the tester, not on the unit.
  • Warranty for ten years, records for ten minutes. Field returns arrive and nobody can pull the build record.
  • Compliance built after the fact. Battery passport, carbon footprint, e-invoicing: reconstructed per shipment because the data was never captured at source.
  • Several sites, several systems. A second plant, a new country or an acquisition, and every site runs its own tools and its own rules.
A battery pack, a module and a solar panel on a production line, each with a serial tag, shipped to an overseas plant, with traceability, compliance and an AI assistant alongside

What we do

ERP and MES for energy manufacturers: one backbone, from cell to invoice

ERP

Odoo, built for growth

Sales, projects, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory, field service and accounting in one system. Multi-company, multi-currency and local invoicing rules (Mexico CFDI, Vietnam e-invoice, EU e-invoicing) when you need them.

MES

Majorbird MES on top of your ERP

No second database. Operators scan in, steps are guided and error-proofed, every reading lands on the unit, failed checks stop the unit and route it to rework. Serial-level genealogy from cell to module to pack.

AI

A private platform for the whole company

One portal, the best models, single sign-on, connected to your email and your ERP, acting as the user. Assistants draft quotes, supplier emails and reports; people approve. Data stays on your infrastructure, also in China.

People

We stay until it runs

Training on your own system in Chinese, English, French or Spanish, an AI usage charter, champions in every plant. Teams in China, Vietnam and Mexico.

Proof

We built this for electronics lines. A battery line is the same problem.

High-mix serialised assembly, a test on every unit, component-to-unit genealogy, returns driven by field failures: an SMT line and a pack line share the same data problem. Our MES already does this on electronics floors:

  • Lots, serials and full genealogy from part to finished good.
  • Readings from scanners and instruments land automatically, timestamped and tied to the right unit.
  • A check that must pass is a gate: the unit does not advance until it does, and defects are captured with a reason the moment they happen.
  • Pull the full history of any unit in seconds, not days.

What changes for energy is only the depth of the BOM (cell to module to pack) and the compliance overlay. The primitives are the same. See our MES quality and traceability and our work in electronics and hardware.

How it plays out

A storage maker adds a second plant

Illustrative scenario, not a specific client.

Month 1

Odoo multi-company: the Mexican entity invoices with CFDI from day one, intercompany purchases from the Chinese parent, one consolidated view in Shenzhen.

Month 2

MES on the pack line: cells received by lot, modules and packs serialised, end-of-line test results bound to each pack, failed units routed to rework with a reason.

Month 3

The overseas team gets a private AI assistant connected to ERP and mailbox: supplier follow-ups drafted in Spanish, reviewed by a human, every action traced per user.

Any day after

A customer asks for the record of a returned pack: cells, steps, readings, who and when, in seconds. A regulator asks for the battery passport data: it is an export, not a project.

The same backbone applies whether the new plant is next door or abroad.

Compliance

The rules are coming. Capture the data now.

EU battery passport, 18 February 2027

Every EV and industrial battery above 2 kWh sold in the EU carries an electronic record behind a QR code. The record is only as good as the genealogy and test data you captured on the line. We build that capture first, the export is then a report, not a rebuild.

Carbon footprint declarations

Phased in under the same regulation. A structured BOM, supplier data and per-unit genealogy are the inputs; we make sure they exist. We prepare the data, your LCA provider certifies it.

Local invoicing

Mexico CFDI 4.0 and Vietnam e-invoicing are already live in our own entities, on Odoo, and EU e-invoicing when you need it. See our financial expertise.

Multi-country consolidation

Intercompany, FX and statutory reporting handled in the ERP, not in a spreadsheet at month end.

Questions

Energy manufacturing FAQ

One that runs several entities, currencies and local invoicing rules in a single system, and that your shop floor can plug into. Odoo does this out of the box; we add the MES layer and the local presence in China, Vietnam and Mexico.

The passport is a per-unit record: materials, origin, performance and test data. With our MES on Odoo, every pack already carries its genealogy and test results, so the passport becomes an export of data you hold, not a reconstruction. We prepare the data; certification stays with your compliance partner.

Yes. Our own Mexican and Vietnamese entities invoice on Odoo with CFDI 4.0 and Vietnamese e-invoicing, and we implement the same for clients, including intercompany flows with a Chinese or European parent.
