Odoo 20 answers several questions warehouse and finance teams ask all the time: how old is this stock, what did we have on a given day, and how much should we reorder. Here is what the official release notes list for Inventory.
Reporting
- Stock aging report. Available from the pivot view of the Moves Analysis.
- Inventory at a past date. A new date picker in the stock report gives an improved view of inventory at any past moment. It keeps your filters and accepts a precise timestamp.
- Traceability report. Upstream and downstream lot and serial numbers now appear in a single report, with final locations highlighted.
- Valuation adjustments. Product cost adjustments and their effect on inventory value are listed in a new "Valuation Adjustments" menu (debug mode). In perpetual accounting, the journal entries are created automatically.
Replenishment
- Suggested stock levels. Minimum and maximum levels for reordering rules are suggested from demand history, the minimum days of coverage you want, and how often you order.
- A single "Order" button replaces "Order" and "Order to max". When you order ahead, the quantity is the maximum minus the forecast.
- Allocation can be done directly from the forecast report, with a redesigned allocation report.
Multi-company and trade
- Better intercompany flows. Resupply one company from another through routes, deliver a sales order from another company's warehouse, transfer valuation costs correctly between companies, and pass price or quantity updates on linked orders to the other company.
- Customer lead times per company.
- Landed costs on specific products of a transfer, not only the whole transfer.
- HS codes per product variant, and packagings per variant.
- A prefilled CMR document (road transport consignment note) can be downloaded from deliveries.
Operations
- Push routes based on the exact receiving location.
- A simpler returns process, without the return wizard.
- The vendor's purchase reference appears on receipts, so operators can identify the supplier without opening the purchase order.
- Location barcode labels in ZPL format, packaging barcodes managed from the product form, and notifications on transfer status.
- Shipping: a new ShipStation connector, and Sendcloud pickup points selectable on orders and transfers.
How to get it
Odoo 20 is available now for new databases on Odoo Online and Odoo.sh. For existing databases, Odoo expects to open its upgrade platform around the end of November 2026, with a test mode available earlier. If your database has custom modules, plan a test upgrade first: that is where most of the real work sits.
